To me, in the movie, not sure about the book, because again, haven’t read it, It came off like someone who is angry at and constantly misjudged by the world around them.Ĭut out all those F-bombs. Honestly, it makes much more sense to have the Military slay a dangerous creature than a bunch of 10-12 year olds. Have It be slain by the Military, not Bill and his friends. Instead of It kidnapping Beverly being what drives Bill and his friends to head into It’s lair, have It lay about a hundred eggs, if not more.Ĭhange Beverly’s Dad, or just cut him altogether. In showing how our present-day Government would handle a creature like It, of course, the Military gets involved. Instead of setting it in 1989, set in in present day, because I want to see what our present-day Government would do in a situation like this one. It just felt so unrealistic, I was something of a nerd at my school back in 2011, and I wasn’t bullied at all. Because he did not change in any way, nor did he learn anything.Ĭut (or even downplay) the bullying that Bill and his friends face. Give Bill more growth and development as a character. I don’t.)Īctually show (or at least heavily imply) how Georgie’s death impacted the Denbrough family, like maybe Bill’s parents filed for divorce and his Dad is trying to get his marriage back on its feet. If you like It (2017) the way it is, that’s fine. (Don’t get all up in arms, I never read that pointless book, and besides, it’s just my opinion. Here’s what I would’ve preferred had it been directed by say, Roland Emmerich. I do not like this movie, I thought it was stupid and it could’ve been so much better.
